Jewellery is a difficult thing to sell online and an especially difficult thing to sell online in Pakistan. The product is visual, the purchase is emotional, the price is often negotiable in the buyer's mind, and a large share of orders will arrive as cash on delivery from someone who has never heard of you.
We built Floral, a personalised jewellery brand, and Twinkle Accessories. The points below are the ones that decided how those stores were put together.
Photography is the product page
Nothing else on a jewellery store matters as much. You need the piece on white, the piece being worn, a close detail shot showing the finish, and something in frame for scale, because the single most common return reason is that it was smaller than the buyer pictured. A phone camera and a light tent will do this properly. Do not launch until the photographs are right; everything else can be improved after.
Cash on delivery, handled like an adult
COD is the majority of orders for a lot of Pakistani stores, and it comes with a refusal rate that quietly eats the margin. Things that help:
- Confirm the order by WhatsApp or a call before dispatch. This single step removes a large share of refusals.
- A partial advance on higher-value items, even a token one, changes the buyer's commitment.
- Show the delivery charge before checkout, not as a surprise at the end.
- Track your refusal rate by city. The pattern is real and it should inform whether you keep offering COD everywhere.
Local payments, for the buyers who prefer them
Offer the rails people actually use here: bank transfer with clear instructions, and the wallets your customers already have. Every payment method you do not offer is a share of buyers who will not complete. The gateways available to a small Pakistani store change often enough that it is worth checking current options rather than copying what a two-year-old article recommends.
Sizing, materials and the questions that block a sale
Ring size guidance with a way to measure at home. What the metal actually is, plated or solid, and how it should be cared for. Whether it will tarnish. These are the questions that stop a purchase, and answering them on the product page does more for conversion than a discount code.
Trust, for a brand nobody has heard of
- A real phone number and WhatsApp, answered.
- A returns policy that a person can understand, stated in plain language.
- Customer photographs, which for jewellery persuade far more than written reviews.
- Packaging shown, because a lot of this is bought as a gift and the box is part of it.
Where the traffic comes from
For jewellery in Pakistan, Instagram and TikTok do the discovery and the website closes the sale. Build accordingly: the site has to load fast on mobile data, and the path from a social profile link to a completed order should be as short as you can make it. Product pages need to work as landing pages, because that is what they will be.
If you are building one of these, it is Shopify development for most brands, and digital marketing is where the growth actually comes from once it is live.
