Your site shares a server with many others, which keeps it cheap. It's the right starting point for brochure sites, portfolios and small stores. The trade-off: a very busy neighbour site can occasionally affect performance.

Cloud hosting

Your site gets its own dedicated resources spread across a cluster, so it stays fast and stable even as traffic grows. This is the sweet spot for a growing business, a busier store, or anything where downtime costs you money.

VPS hosting

A virtual private server gives you a slice of a machine with full control: great for custom applications and developers, overkill for a standard business site.

How to choose

• Growing or sales-critical? Go cloud for the stability.
• Custom app or dev team? VPS.
